Builders Ede helps first-timers buy in Abingdon and Witney

Builders Ede has today announced that it will offer an ‘assisted purchase scheme’ on a range of new apartments the company is building at the Willow Brook development close to Abingdon town centre and at the Mill Walk development in the centre of Witney.

Properties available under the scheme include two bedroom apartments at the company’s prestigious Willow Brook development priced under £205,000 and a range of apartments at Mill Walk.

The opportunity is open to first time buyers who would pay just 75% of the total apartment price. The remaining 25% would be paid by a second loan from Builders Ede but would be rent and interest free. Buyers would simply pay off the 25% within 10 years or, alternatively, when they sold the home.

The first phase of the Willow Brook development is due for completion in Spring 2008. A total of 44 new homes will be built with a range of exterior finishes including Cotswold Stone, brick and part-rendering on the site of the Old MG Works.

Designed and built by Witney-based Builders Ede, the Willow Brook development includes; 21 two-bedroom apartments, priced from £195,000 or from £146,250 under the assisted purchase scheme and 23 houses priced from £225,000 for a two-bedroom home. Three-bedroom houses start at £265,000 and four-bedroom three-storey town houses are priced from £320,000.

Many of the Willow Brook apartments will feature en-suite bathrooms and some houses will offer garages. Each will include Bosch appliances, quality chrome fittings and energy efficient heating. Each apartment has an allocated parking space and houses feature one to three parking spaces.

At Mill Walk in Witney, all the one bedroom apartments are now sold but two bedroom apartments are priced from £179,950 or from 134,962, under the assisted purchase scheme. Built in traditional Cotswold stone, each Mill Walk apartment includes integrated Bosch and Stainless Steel appliances in the kitchen, energy efficient under floor heating and a parking space. They are also wired for TV, SKY and VHF.
