More for your money at Roman Place

17th March 2009 Print
More for your money at Roman Place Town or countryside is a decision that many house-hunters have to weigh-up, but for some village properties the advantages of value, scenery and quality can make the choice a no-brainer. Roman Place near Kirtlington in Oxfordshire is one such example.

An impressive new development by popular regional developer Bloor Homes South Midlands, the project consists of 3 and 4 bedroom houses and is located off Gossway Fields on the Southern edge of the village.

Roman Place’s picturesque rural setting fully highlights the added value of choosing countryside over town. This classic English village with two greens, thatched cottages and a pond with ducks and daffodils in the spring, provides an idyllic setting for country living. As well as the scenic environs and lifestyle advantages, the price of living in such a countryside setting also makes perfect sense. Average prices for a 3 bedroom home in Central Oxford for the last quarter of 2008 were on average 14% higher than the Kirtlington area.

At Roman Place prices start from just £289,950 for the three bedroom ‘Woodstock’, with four bedroom homes starting from £489,500 for the ‘Denfield’. The project comprises 15 units in total, each with secure parking and private gardens. The site takes its name from a Roman Villa and well that were discovered during Bloor Homes’ preliminary archaeological investigations.

Kirtlington is located to the north of Oxford. It boasts a Grade II listed hotel, The Dashwood, as well as traditional pubs and attractive green spaces. To the east of the village lies Kirtlington Park, a Grade I listed mansion house with 3,000 acres of land including a polo club and farm.

The peaceful village is a world away from nearby centres of Oxford and Bicester, however convenient transport links make it ideal for commuters with the A34 and M40 both within easy reach.

A four bedroom showhome, The Denham is now available to view. For more information, log on to bloorhomes.com.
