Local developer goes the extra mile in Adderbury

Linden Homes showed its commitment to the local community in Adderbury this month, sponsoring the village’s annual ‘Party in the Park’ festival, with a donation of £1,000 to help with the celebrations.

Linden Homes is currently building a new development to the north of Adderbury, off Banbury Road. Along with its donation, the developer showed additional support for its village neighbours by sending out two members of staff to take part in the 10k run, held on the morning of the event. Linden Sales Manager Zoe Dobbs and Site Manager Dave Barlow joined local competitors on a route that took in the festival atmosphere and local sights, before a gruelling cross-country route out into the fields surrounding the village.

Zoe Dobbs, Sales Manager for Linden Homes Chiltern, commented:

“The Adderbury Party in the Park is a fantastic event for the local area so we were keen to take part and show our support in any way we could, even if it meant donning the running shoes!

“The festival provided the ideal opportunity for Linden Homes to give something back to the community, which has been very supportive in helping us to produce the best possible new homes for the area. It was a great chance for us to meet up with local people on a social level, as well as bringing them updated news of our development first-hand.”

Adderbury's Party in the Park 2009 bucked the trend of music festivals, with attendance numbers holding strong from the previous year. The volunteer organisers put this down to the strong roots the event has within the local community.

Festival committee member, Linda Leslie, commented:

"We are very grateful to Linden Homes for the support they have given us. Party in the Park is a real community event, which also raises money for local charities and groups. Linden Homes’ support is an expression of their commitment to Adderbury as a community, and it is really appreciated.”
