All aboard for an Antler Home

3rd April 2007 Print
Bracken Woods - plots 1 2 and 3 With a recent Halifax report stating that house prices in seaside areas have increased at a faster rate than elsewhere in the UK; finding a family house for under £300,000 near one of the South’s most popular yachting destinations would seem unimaginable.

However, bespoke house builder Antler Homes is meeting popular demand by building two developments of family houses, with a price tag of just £260,000, less than one and a half miles from the popular Georgian market town of Lymington, Hampshire.

Clive Tizzard, senior partner at Fox & Sons property and land agents of Lymington comments "Antler Home's new developments, Bracken Wood and Bracken Mead, meet demands in the area for more affordable newly built family homes. There is currently a surplus of apartments in the area and it is very refreshing to have such high quality homes which are suitable for downsizers, young families, or even second homes. Pennington village adjoins the worldwide renowned sailing centre of Lymington whilst the New Forest National Park is just two miles to the north. Lying between the forest and the sea makes the area one of the most sought-after on the south coast, and always a sound investment.”

Ron Virrill, Managing Director of Antler Homes Wessex, comments: “Bracken Mead and Bracken Wood are testament to Antler Homes’ dedication to producing stylish and high quality houses in sought after locations. We have already seen a great deal of interest in both of these developments as they are ideal for local families and people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.”

Bracken Mead comprises ten two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses. The development combines red brick work, grey or red tiling and white render with traditional pitched roof and gabled architecture. The mix of colours and design compliments the surrounding countryside and draws on the local vernacular.

Bracken Wood comprises seven three bedroom terraced and semi detached houses set within a secluded cul de sac. The houses combine traditional pitched roofs and carefully chosen building materials which blend the development seamlessly into the surrounding environment.

The properties at both developments incorporate luxury custom built kitchens, which include a Siemens stainless steel gas hob, single oven, integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and ceramic floor tiles.

Pennington has a range of shops, a church and Priestlands Secondary School, within a short walk from both developments. The nearby market town of Lymington is a stunning tourist hotspot full of boutique shops and tea rooms. The three marinas in Lymington ensure the area is very popular in the summer months, when visitors can charter boats or enjoy strolls by the water.

Lymington Train Station has regular trains to Brockenhurst which take eight minutes (approximately). From Brockenhurst there are direct trains to London Waterloo, which take one and a half hours, and to Southampton Central taking 12 minutes (approximately).

Prices at Bracken Mead start from £260,000 for a two bedroom end-terrace house, £290,000 for a three bedroom mid-terraced house and £330,000 for a four bedroom semi-detached house.

Prices at Bracken Wood start from £280,000 for a three bedroom end-terrace house and £290,000 for a three bedroom semi-detached house.

The show home at Bracken Wood is due to open on 6th April 2007.
