New show home showcases waterside lifestyle

28th September 2007 Print
Imagine what it might be like to live in a bright and spacious new apartment in a historic building with wonderful views across a marina and a host of facilities on the doorstep. To make it easy to appreciate just how special this lifestyle could be, Berkeley Homes has recently opened a fantastic new two-bedroom show apartment in The Bakery at its Royal Clarence Marina development in Portsmouth Harbour.

The Bakery and adjoining The Granary is a beautiful Grade II listed building that dates back to the early 19th century, when it was part of an extensive victualling yard that provided food and drink to the ships of the Royal Navy. Berkeley Homes has converted this splendid historic building into 44 new one, two and three-bedroom apartments, marking the latest part of the transformation of the Royal Clarence Yard which will, when complete comprise a collection of homes, and planned restaurants, bars, shops and leisure facilities.

“Royal Clarence Marina is a great success with home buyers,” comments David Campbell, Berkeley Homes’ Sales and Marketing Director. “Waterside homes are always in enormous demand and the combination of a delightful marina setting, the fascinating history of the site and the proximity of outstanding facilities, is very hard to beat. As a result, I am delighted to say that we are receiving a huge number of enquiries about these new homes.”

The Bakery, an impressive building with an attractive arrangement of tall windows and a column-flanked walkway, has two beautiful collections to choose from. The Marina View Collection offers homes with spectacular views across the water to Gunwharf Quays and beyond, as demonstrated by the newly launched show home. The Heritage Collection features loft-style apartments with timber beams, exposed brickwork and floor-to-ceiling cast iron columns.

A further four showcase apartments are available to view; these are partly furnished and demonstrate well the different styles available at this superb development.

The beauty of living at Royal Clarence Marina is that it combines a peaceful setting with very easy access to shops, entertainment and the road network. The shops, bars, restaurants and multi-screen cinema at Gunwharf Quays are just a few minutes away by the new water taxi service, and the M27, which leads to the M3 and A3, is within a short drive.

Prices at The Bakery start from £309,995 for a two bedroom apartment in The Marina View Collection and from £239,995 for a two-bedroom apartment in The Heritage Collection. The new show apartment, and four showcase apartments, can be viewed daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
