Recognition for innovation

Miller Homes, with Southern Headquarters located in Basingstoke, has scooped another industry title – this time for Best Marketing Innovation in the hotly contested national Housebuilding Innovation Awards.

It was the company’s latest online innovation, mymillerstreet.co.uk, that stole the show for the panel of judges who said they were impressed by the way the company has used, “modern technology to ease the housebuying process” for buyers.

The website, launched earlier this year, was designed to act as an ice breaker for residents moving onto a new scheme for the first time. Buyers

can add their personal details onto a site plan and discuss key local issues, facilities and service via an open discussion board.

Homeowners are also encouraged to live a “greener life” through the site which enables residents to track the impact of their lifestyle on the planet and includes tips for energy conversation and sustainable living. When judging the award, a panel of industry experts were briefed to,“reward those companies that demonstrated how marketing campaigns could be used to increase sales and improve the homebuying process for the customer.”

In their summing up, the judges said; “Of the shortlisted companies, it was Miller that impressed the most. Its websites, one of which enables housebuyers to interact with each other and the area, is an innovative addition to an already high quality web and text offering from a housebuilder that continues to drive the marketing of new homes forward.”

Marketing Director, Philip Hogg, said; “We are passionate about improving customer care and giving buyers a more enjoyable journey towards their new home. ‘mymillerstreet’ is just a small part of what we offer buyers today.

It is thanks to this website, and a host of other schemes, that 85% of our buyers say that they would happily recommend us to their best friend.

“We want to take this satisfaction score further and aim to keep on innovating and setting the industry ever higher standards to follow.”
