Buyers rush for Barratt’s big money match deal

First time buyers in the Southampton area are taking advantage of a massive boost from Barratt with the launch of its Money Match deal. The housebuilder is offering people a greater chance to get onto the housing ladder by matching pound for pound their deposit savings.

As part of the deal, first time buyers can save money for their deposit and Barratt will match the money up to a value of five per cent of the property price, effectively doubling their contribution – a great bonus for anyone struggling to put aside funds for their starter home.

“We know that taking the first steps onto the housing ladder are the toughest for young buyers so this is an easy way to move into a first property,” said Catherine Ferguson, Barratt sales director.

“In the current climate, lending sources are reluctant to give funds to first time buyers and, sadly, we have seen a number of reservations being cancelled part way through the process.

“It’s a tough time for those looking to purchase a starter home which is why Barratt is offering this incentive to help them out. We will match the funds saved by a first time buyer for their deposit.”
