Contemporary living is on the agenda The historic village of Four Marks is set for a boost with the opening of the sales office and show homes at Meadowbrook – Barratt’s striking new development in this flourishing part of Hampshire.

When complete, the site will offer 117 brand new two-bedroom coach houses and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.

“Visitors can now view four new show homes,” said Catherine Ferguson, Barratt sales director. “These include a three-bedroom end terrace house, a three-storey town house and a four-bedroom detached home. All come with en-suites, garages and parking spaces.”

Catherine said the new homes have a fresh and contemporary feel and once complete, the site will offer residents the perfect combination of village life and close proximity to the thriving town of Alton and beyond.

Although enjoying a village location, the Meadowbrook development is ideally situated for commuting. It lies close to the famous Watercress Line, which runs regular services between Alton and Alresford, stopping at Medstead and Four Marks railway station.

The cities of Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton are within easy reach, and the M3 offers a direct route to London and the south west.

Four Marks offers a number of amenities – including nurseries, a church, post office, pub, restaurant and several shops. The village also has the best traditional fish and chip shop in the area.

The nearby picturesque town of Alton was once home to one of England’s best loved writers, Jane Austen. It has a fascinating history as it was built around a wealthy Saxon settlement and its market was the most valuable market recorded in the Doomsday Book. The modern town offers a delightful mix of historic buildings, shops and arcades, and it plays host to a number of markets and fairs throughout the year

Prices at Meadowbrook range from £234,995 to £494,500. For further details, log onto Barratthomes.co.uk.
