Pupils from St Bedes School leave lasting impression

Pupils from St Bedes School leave lasting impression Pupils from St Bedes School in Popley recently teamed up with David Wilson Homes Southern to create a long lasting memory of the lives of school children today, by burying a time capsule at the housebuilder's Bramley Fields development in Popley, Basingstoke. The pupils, who have been working on the project for the last month, were briefed to select the items based on what they believed would best represent themselves and help future generations gain a better understanding of school life in 2008.

Amongst the items chosen was a pupil profile, class photographs and details of playground games.

Sales director for David Wilson Homes Southern, Lynne Morgan, explains: "As a housebuilder we recognise the importance of community and how things can quickly develop over time. We wanted to get involved with the local community to help create a record of what life's like today in the area, in the hope that our efforts will one day prove useful for children of the future.

"We are incredibly pleased to get pupils from the St Bedes School involved, particularly as the children all live within close proximity to Bramley Fields. The contents of the capsule were entirely up to the pupils and so we hope that we have managed to leave an accurate and genuine picture of school life today."

Bramley Fields is located on the outskirts of Basingstoke and benefits from easy access to cities such as Reading, Southampton and London via the M3. Purchasers are also able to benefit from close proximity to a range of amenities including good local schools, shops, restaurants and open spaces.
