Citigait apartment provides show case for local designer

Local interior designer Lesley Taylor has been displaying her skills at Barratt's Citigait development in Portsmouth, where she has just completed work on the site's new show apartment.

"The new show home is a two-bedroom, ground floor apartment, and I was asked to provide an attractive interior for a young, professional couple," Lesley said.

"I decided to opt for something a little bit different, so I've used burnt orange as the main colour theme, with lots of metallic and reflective finishes and wallpapers.

"The result is a bright and contemporary living space, complete with furniture supplied by the Debenhams store in Portsmouth."

Lesley is based in Southsea and started her own business, Gloss Interior Styling, three years ago. She also lectures on Interior Design at the Chelsea College of Art in London.

The Citigait show home is Lesley's fourth Barratt assignment this year.

"We are very pleased with Lesley's work and we do like to use local designers when possible," said Catherine Ferguson, Barratt sales director.

"Citigait is a stunning gated development of one and two-bedroom apartments and the new show home is typical of the high standard people can expect from properties on this site.

"In fact, only five apartments are still for sale at Citigait," Catherine continued. "They will be ready for occupation in June, so I would urge buyers to visit the development as soon as possible to avoid disappointment."
