The race leaves Portsmouth on Saturday 21st June at 9.30am and crowds of spectators are expected to gather at Gunwharf Quays to watch. The race is an endurance test lasting 10 days, during which 48 boats will battle with the elements as they try to complete the 1,300 mile course. Staged over eight legs around the British Isles, the race will finish back at Gunwharf Quays on Monday 30th June.

This is the third time this epic race has taken place. The first time was in 1969 and then in 1984. This year it has attracted worldwide interest with crews from Italy, Austria, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Greece competing, as well as a high profile entry from the Top Gear team.
