Young golfers make fundraising child’s play Over 50 Hampshire youngsters have recently teed off for charity in aid of the Naomi House Hospice. The youngsters were competing in the Hamble Valley Rotary Club Cup at Swanmore Golf Centre near Bishops Waltham to find the best young golfer in Hampshire.

This year’s event, sponsored by Fareham-based Persimmon Homes South Coast, saw a highly competitive game of golf which culminated with a nail biting finish, with Swanmore-based Jordan Brackstone, 13, member of the Corhampton Golf Club, emerging as the winner.

The day was an astounding success, raising £2,750 for local charity the Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Sutton Scotney near Winchester.

Jill Livingstone from Naomi House comments: “This is the ninth year the Rotary Club Cup has helped raise funds for our hospice and we are very grateful for the wonderful support of Hamble Valley Rotary Club and Persimmon Homes.

“Naomi House provides a homely environment for children and young people with life-limiting conditions which mean that they will not live to become adults.

“Thanks to events like these we can continue to provide crucial care services, free of charge, to children and their families.”

Rob Allen, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Coast comments: “The Rotary Club Cup is now an annual date in the calendar for every keen young golfer in the county.

“Not only does it give youngsters a great day out, but it also raises funds for an extremely worthwhile cause.”
