New homes ready for take-off Knight Frank is expecting an influx of visitors to Farnborough Central, a 12 acre residential development by Redrow Homes located on Farnborough Airfield, as an anticipated 300,000 people attend the iconic International Air Show during 14th-20th July.

Whilst the show incorporates a host of historic and new attractions, the development itself has its own slice of striking history; central to the scheme is a 250 ft long airship hangar frame which provides an eye-catching piece of historic architecture, together with the former Royal Aircraft Establishment area which has been sympathetically brought back to life creating a remarkable public square.

Charles Rosling, Sales Manager for Knight Frank South East, says: “Farnborough is renowned for its aviation connections and International Air Show, and future residents at Farnborough Central will be able to enjoy this magnificent annual event from the comfort of their own homes, with the penthouses offering amazing views of the airfield and the best seats money can buy! Farnborough Central offers a unique opportunity to be part of the airfield’s history, as well as benefiting from its regeneration, with new housing, a high-tech business centre, day nursery and a café / restaurant in future.”

Farnborough Central will eventually comprise a mix of 476 new homes including new and refurbished apartments and town houses. The first phase includes one and two bedroom converted apartments and three and four bedroom new-build homes. The converted apartment building, Cathedral Court, incorporates 32 one and two bedroom apartments and duplexes which reflect the art deco period. Inside, apartments include spacious, open plan kitchen / living areas with full height windows which create a light and airy feel. One bedroom apartments have a separate bathroom, whilst the two bedroom apartments incorporate an additional ensuite to the master bedroom.

The new-build terrace homes offer a mix of layouts and styles to suit a range of tastes and requirements. All incorporate a separate kitchen with a large open plan dining area / living room with French doors that open out onto the garden, ideal for the summer months. Kitchens in both the apartments and houses are fully fitted with an integrated dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

The master bedrooms all have fitted wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, with an ensuite to the second bedroom in the four bedroom houses. Bathrooms are fitted with white sanitary ware and chrome effect taps, as well as full height tiles to wet walls.

Charles adds: “The attractive mix of apartments and houses and their unique setting have appealed to a range of buyers including first time buyers and young families, so a number of properties on the first phase have already sold and with the forthcoming influx of visitors, we expect a high number of sales.”

Prices at Farnborough Central are from £187,000 for a one bedroom apartment and from £217,000 for a two bedroom apartment. Three bedroom houses are priced from £275,000. For further information, visit Knightfrank.com.
