Civil servant gets on the property ladder at Twyford Square Barratt was able to give one first-time buyer a head start onto the property ladder when he took advantage of the developer's latest scheme at Twyford Square in Eastleigh. Ryan Andrews (24), a civil servant, bought a first floor apartment at the popular development and is one of the first residents to move onto the site.

"Barratt has some excellent deals for first time buyers to get on the property ladder," he said.

"I'm really excited about being in my first home. It's a spacious apartment with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge and a kitchen with washing machine and oven. I also have a parking space.

"The location is ideal, as it's close to the train station and it's also easy to get to cities like Southampton or Winchester. I am extremely pleased with my new home and the Barratt team has been really helpful throughout the buying process."

Mark Docherty, sales director at Barratt, added: "Our current Head Start deal is proving incredibly popular and allows buyers to secure a mortgage for just 85 per cent of the total property price while Barratt finances the remaining 15 per cent for up to 10 years.

"We know that people are facing real affordability issues, and Head Start is tailored exclusively to help them get onto the property ladder by making home ownership as affordable as possible."

Located off Twyford Road near junction 13 of the M3 and adjacent to the River Itchen, Twyford Square offers 161 one and two-bedroom apartments. Current availability includes one-bedroom apartments priced from £138,995 and two-bedroom apartments priced from £175,995.

Eastleigh town centre and the Swan Shopping Centre is within easy walking distance and Southampton city centre is a short drive, rail or bus ride away. The nearby M3 offers access to the south coast, North Hampshire and London.
