Bryant brings a fresh start for a new Basingstoke resident

Bryant brings a fresh start for a new Basingstoke resident Exciting plans to move to Spain ended abruptly for Gaynor Winstanley when her husband of 36 years passed away suddenly. They had downsized their Cardiff home in preparation for sun, sea and sand but when Brian died aged 57, Gaynor found herself feeling isolated from the rest of her family.

Fast forward a year or so and she is now living at Limes Park, a popular Bryant Homes development in Basingstoke, and is delighted with the fact she is now living closer to her grown-up children.

"I wanted to see more of my grandchildren but didn't want my family to think I was no longer independent, so living here is ideal. I am 25 minutes away from my daughter Helen, and 40 minutes from my son Andrew.

"I was one of five children and then Brian and I got married, so I'd never lived on my own. I'd had a lovely life in Cardiff and moving was a huge decision for me," said Gaynor, 56, a part-time health care assistant.

She started looking for a new home in March and was very attracted to Limes Park from the beginning.

"There was something different about it and it didn't look the same as other developments. The houses all have eco-friendly products, for examples all the window and door frames are wooden.

"Also I had a strange feeling I'd been there before and then realised the former site was a hospital and that my husband, who had been a psychiatric nurse, had actually been here for an interview in the 80s. It was such a coincidence."

Gaynor was amazed that the move was incredibly smooth. Not only was her stamp duty, flooring and removal costs paid for, but she also received money towards legal fees and Bryant did a part-exchange on her previous home.

"I was so nervous about having to face the future by myself and I can honestly say I don't know how I would have done this without Bryant Homes. They have helped me move and to move on and I have brought my memories with me," added Gaynor who used Bryant's free home removals package.

Limes Park is in a sought-after, leafy residential area to the north-west of Basingstoke town centre on the site of the former Park Prewett Hospital.

Each design enjoys a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood, and three bedroom houses similar to Gaynor's are available from £219,995.

Architecture of historic significance is preserved at the site, while new homes are specially designed to complement existing buildings, with extensive use of natural slate, traditional brickwork and timber-framed windows. As many materials as possible have been taken from sustainable sources.

Limes Park will also include designated cycle routes, public open spaces and new bus services to connect with main routes and provide an alternative to the car for residents.

Incentives on new homes are available to suit customers' circumstances and are subject to availability.
