‘Easymove' provides a smooth move at Knowle Village After 18 months of marriage, Nick and Lisa Felstead decided that it was time to start looking around for a family home where they could settle down for the long-term.

Although they weren't in a hurry to move, they found exactly what they were looking for at Knowle Village, a new village community by Berkeley Homes Southern between Southampton and Portsmouth and, with the help of Berkeley Homes successful ‘Easymove' scheme, they were living in their stunning new four-bedroom house in just six weeks.

Nick, 36, and Lisa, 32, had been living in a two-bedroom semi-detached house in Portsmouth, which Nick had bought in his bachelor days. With thoughts of starting a family in the future, they wanted to move to a more rural location and found that Knowle Village fits the bill perfectly. Selling their existing home was quick and easy, thanks to the ‘Easymove' scheme offered by Berkeley Homes.

Nick comments: "Berkeley Homes saved us a huge amount of hassle and money by helping us to sell our old house; in fact, it only took six days to find a buyer! We agreed a price at which to market our property that took into account the current market, and Berkeley Homes made sure we didn't miss out by lowering the price of the new house to help us." Lisa adds: "It all went amazingly smoothly. Everyone at Berkeley Homes was incredibly helpful and we couldn't have wished for an easier move."

Kerry Jordan, Sales Manager for Berkeley Homes, explains that, whether your property is already on the market or is yet to go on, the successful scheme can be a simple and effective solution:

"We arrange the independent valuations of our prospective buyer's property and then use this information to agree an attractive marketing price for their home to generate maximum interest and viewings. At the same time we agree a reduced purchase price for the new home at Knowle Village to make the deal work for our applicants, and remove it from sale for four weeks to allow time for them to find a buyer." Kerry adds, "Despite the difficult market at the end of last year, Mr & Mrs Felstead smooth move proves that the scheme can be really effective."

Nick and Lisa's new house has been designed to the exacting standards for which Berkeley Homes is renowned. The four bedrooms provide plenty of flexible space that can be adapted to suit growing families. On the top floor, the master bedroom and en suite bathroom give a peaceful private area, and there is a second en suite and main bathroom on the second floor. The house has its own garage and a beautifully landscaped rear garden.

"We're thrilled with our new home. Our family and friends are very impressed with it too and love the area," comments Lisa.

This superb development of 550 homes is built on the site of the former Knowle Hospital and the sensitively converted hospital buildings, combined with new homes, give a mature feel to the area. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and reached by a country road that winds through open farmland, Knowle Village is a real community with plenty of amenities - a large village green, children's play areas, a convenience store and even a beauty salon - making it ideal for family life.

With both Wickham and Fareham within two or three miles, a good range of shops and leisure facilities are close by, and with Knowle Village located just a few minutes from Junction 10 of the M27, it's a quick journey to the major towns of Portsmouth and Southampton for more extensive amenities.

A selection of four and five-bedroom houses are now available for immediate occupation, priced from £315,000.
