Lucy leaps onto the property ladder at Limes Park

Lucy leaps onto the property ladder at Limes Park First-time buyer Lucy Voce thought she might struggle to afford to buy a home of her own. The 28-year-old had been renting with a friend, but when the rent and living costs went up, she decided to investigate the cost of buying a home of her own in Basingstoke.

"When I looked into it - and with the help of the schemes available to first-time buyers at Bryant Homes' Limes Park development - the mortgage on my new apartment has worked out cheaper than renting," says Lucy, who works for Connexions in Alton, offering support and advice to local teenagers.

She purchased a brand new one-bedroom apartment and received a Government MyChoice HomeBuy loan to use as a deposit and reduce her mortgage to within budget.

"I wouldn't have known about the schemes to help first-time buyers if I hadn't spoken to the sales staff at Limes Park," adds Lucy, "And in addition to the Government assistance, Bryant paid £1,000 towards my legal fees."

Lucy certainly hasn't had to settle for ‘second best' in her choice of home. "I could have carried on renting by finding a cheaper place, but not necessarily a place where I would have wanted to live. I looked at other developments and other properties on the market, but I really like Limes Park - it's peaceful and in a good location, with green spaces among the homes.

"I've already recommended the development to a friend - I think it's a great place for people to live."

First-time buyers looking for a new home for the New Year can purchase the one-bedroom ‘Tadley' coachhouse at Limes Park from £144,995.

The first-floor accommodation enjoys its own, private entrance and features a large living/dining room with open-plan kitchen, a double bedroom with built-in wardrobes and a bathroom off the entrance hallway.

Like all new homes at the development, the apartments benefit from a high standard specification including central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen complete with oven, hob and hood.

Three-bedroom homes are also available at Limes Park priced from £229,995.

The development is located in a sought-after, leafy residential area to the north-west of Basingstoke town centre on the site of the former Park Prewett hospital. Architecture of historic significance is preserved at the site, while new homes are specially designed to complement existing buildings, with extensive use of natural slate, traditional brickwork and timber-framed windows. As many materials as possible have been taken from sustainable sources.

Limes Park will also include designated cycle routes, public open spaces and new bus services to connect with main routes and provide an alternative to the car for residents.

Incentives are available to suit customers' circumstances and are subject to availability. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.
