First new arrival at Lakeside in Eastleigh The patter of tiny feet has been heard at Lakeside, Barratt’s new development in Eastleigh, where one resident has just given birth to a baby daughter. Carla Wright (27) gave birth to Freya Rose on 19th March at the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton. Mother and baby are doing well and have just returned home.

“Freya weighed 7lb 1oz at birth and she has been very content since we returned home,” said Carla, a property manager. “She’s the first new baby to be born to a Lakeside resident.”

First-time buyer Carla and partner Daniel Lambert (28), a production manager, moved into their new Enbourne style house last October.

“We love our new home as it is spacious and has a large garden,” Carla continued. “There’s a downstairs cloakroom, large lounge/diner and kitchen on the ground floor and three bedrooms, an en-suite and family bathroom on the first floor.

“The house nestles in a small close,” Carla continued. “Everyone has moved in now and the neighbours are really friendly. Daniel and I used to rent a flat in Southampton, so it’s great to have a home of our own, and the Barratt team has been really helpful since we moved in.

“Everything we need is close by, including schools and shops and amenities in Eastleigh. Daniel was brought up in the town and his family live just round the corner.

“I’m very happy with the move – I’m on maternity leave until August so I’m really looking forward to enjoying the summer with the baby in our new home,” Carla concluded.
