Busy start for new development in Basingstoke

11th May 2009 Print
Busy start for new development in Basingstoke David Wilson Homes has seen a busy start to the year with high visitor levels and sales inquiries at its Spencer Place development in Basingstoke. Despite the property downturn, 25 homes have already been sold at the striking scheme since its launch in February.

The housebuilder is offering deals to suit all kinds of buyers, together with help to get a mortgage.

David Wilson Homes Southern sales director, Lynne Morgan, said: “We’ve seen a marked increase in sales inquiries and visitor levels at our Spencer Place development in recent weeks as people are realising that now could be a very good time to buy.”

The new HomeBuy Direct scheme offers homebuyers an equity loan of up to 30 per cent, funded jointly by David Wilson Homes Southern and the Government. The buyer finances the remaining 70 per cent of the purchase price, either through a mortgage, a deposit or a combination of the two.

There is no interest to pay on the equity stake for the first five years. Buyers can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of share of the sale price.

Lynne said: “We are offering some of our best-ever deals, but they can only be available for a limited period. I’d advise anyone interested to come and talk to us.”

Two new showhomes were recently opened; a two-bedroom Winton house type with an open plan living and dining area, and a three-bedroom Pembridge house type which includes a second floor master bedroom with en-suite.

Homes currently available at Spencer Place, Churchill Way, Basingstoke, RG21 7QU, include two-bedroom houses from £204,995 and three-bedroom houses from £234,995. One penthouse apartment, priced at £217,995 currently remains, with a new collection of apartments to be released within the next few weeks. For further information visit Dwh.co.uk.
