Fareham is the place to be

26th May 2009 Print
Savvy house hunters are flocking to Fareham and it’s no wonder with a recent survey* finding that the desirable Hampshire town has weathered the property market storm. Property prices in the area fallen by just 3.6% compared to a UK average of 11.5%.

Purchasers have been quick to snap up properties at George Wimpey’s Sandringham Park development on Gudge Heath Lane which has sold 15 homes in just four months. There are now just four homes remaining for sale including the Eastrop home, a three bedroom detached home with a study, which is just £249,995.

The recession also seems to have bypassed Bryant Homes’ Grosvenor Place development on Portchester Road which has sold 18 properties since November. There are now just three homes left.

Pauline Fletcher, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey, said: “At the start of the year we saw a definite rise in the number of sales here in Fareham, proving that purchasers are confident about the recovery of the housing market. Sandringham Park and Grosvenor Place have been extremely popular due to their offerings of high quality homes in excellent locations. We’re sure that these final homes won’t be on the market for long, especially with the fantastic financial packages we can tailor to help you to buy your dream home.

“If you have a house to sell why not use our part exchange scheme**? We will keep you up to date on the progress of the sale and you can relax in the knowledge that your chosen home won’t be sold to anyone else whilst we are marketing your existing property. The other major advantage of using the scheme is that you can stay in your old property right up until your new home is complete and ready to occupy. We’re urging house hunters to come and see the last few homes available at Sandringham Park and Grosvenor Place before it’s too late.”

The Eastrop home at Sandringham Park is perfect for families offering a spacious kitchen/dining room to the rear of the home with French patio doors leading out into the garden, a lounge and study to the front and a useful cloakroom. Upstairs are three bedrooms – the master of which benefits from en-suite facilities - and a family bathroom. The Eastrop home benefits from a private garden and garage.

Sandringham Park is nestled within a peaceful residential area but is just 1.5 miles from Fareham Town Centre where everyday needs are well catered for. If you work out of town then commuting won’t be a problem; major road networks are easily accessed and there are regular bus and rail services from the town centre. If you’re lucky enough to be jetting off overseas Southampton airport is less than half an hour away by car.

Set in the delightful county of Hampshire Grosvenor Place is ideally located to take advantage of what the local area has to offer. There’s a good selection of high street stores, cafes, bars and restaurants in nearby Fareham, as well as entertainment facilities.Travel is easy with Junction 11 of the M27 acting as a gateway to the national motorway network. Portchester has a train station with connections to Fareham, Southampton Central and onwards to central London. For travel overseas Southampton airport is only a short journey away.
