Join the party at Staunton Place

Join the party at Staunton Place Barratt will be holding a Summer Party at its popular Staunton Place development in Havant on Saturday 13th June. “Staunton Place is set in communal gardens with specially commissioned sculptures, so it’s the perfect place to hold a party,” said Mark Docherty, Barratt sales director.

“The event will be held from 12 noon to 4pm and it is open to everyone. There will be a barbecue and live music, and visitors will be able to talk to residents about the benefits of living at this popular development,” he continued. “They will also be able to find out more about the HomeBuy Direct scheme, a major new Government initiative.

“With Home Buy Direct, eligible homebuyers only have to find 70 per cent of a property’s purchase price – so they could buy one of our two-bedroom apartments from as little as £68,597.

“The other 30 per cent is funded by a joint equity loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA),” Mark added.

“The scheme is open to first-time buyers, key workers and others who are currently renting. People who have previously owned a home but are now unable to do so – perhaps where relationships have broken down – can also apply.”

Households eligible for HomeBuy Direct will be earning less than £60,000 and would not normally be able to afford to buy a suitable property on the open market. There is no interest to pay on the equity stake for the first five years, although a small fee will be charged from year six onwards.

Buyers can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of a proportionate share of the sale proceeds.

Staunton Place offers a selection of Citipads, apartments and houses. Current availability includes a selection of two-bedroom apartments priced from £97,995 to £112,995.

Havant is a thriving market town and lies close to the cities of Portsmouth and Chichester and the Isle of Wight. Commuting is easy, thanks to the close proximity of the M27 and A3 (M) motorways.
