Keeping it in the family at Cedar Park

Paul and Claire Cowlin, who are both in their 60’s, bought a ground floor apartment at the house builder’s Cedar Park development on Park House Farm Way. A month later their son John used Bryant Homes’ Part Exchange scheme* to buy a townhouse at Cedar Park with his wife Lucy, daughter Iesha, 7, and son Jordan, 4.
John, 36, said: “We’d been looking for a home with a larger garden for several months as the children are at an age where they love to play outside after school. When my parents moved in to their apartment at Cedar Park we went to have a look. We were really impressed with the build quality and of course it’s ideal for them as it’s low maintenance and secure.
“We had a wander around the development, had a chat to Karen, who’s one of the sales executives, and did some maths. We worked out we could afford the home as, despite buying a bigger property, we were still going to be making the same mortgage repayments, just for longer. The only problem we could see was selling our home in the current economic climate.
“Luckily Bryant Homes came to the rescue by offering us their Part Exchange scheme, which was the perfect solution. With two young children the thought of packing up our home alone gave us enough of a headache, without organising everything else. It was a real relief to be able to leave the hard work of selling our house, and some of the costs too, to Bryant.”
Using the scheme John and Lucy, who grew up together in Havant, sold their three bedroom house in The Warren and bought a four bedroom Twyford townhouse at Cedar Park.
John added: “Cedar Park is in an excellent location. It’s close to all the amenities we need, the pretty woods where Lucy and I used to play in as children and where we go for walks at the weekend, and within easy reach of the coast. We’re really looking forward to inviting our friends and family round for a couple of beers and a barbeque in the summer, although obviously my parents won’t have to travel far!”
Pauline Fletcher, regional sales and marketing director for Bryant Homes, added: “People still want to move house whether for work commitments, to be closer to friends and family or for their child’s education. Despite the current climate we’re finding that there is still a lot of demand for good quality homes in the right location – which is why Cedar Park is doing so well.
“If you would like to move home but are struggling to find a purchaser for your current property then come and talk to us about our Part Exchange scheme which is hugely popular with families who have so many other things to worry about when moving besides finding a buyer for their old home. The beauty of the scheme is that the sale of your current property is confirmed well in advance of your move to your brand new Bryant home leaving you to enjoy the nicer side of moving like choosing new furniture and meeting your new neighbours!”
