A champagne launch for new apartments in Farnborough

14th September 2009 Print
Contemporary new apartments will be released for sale during a champagne launch event at Farnborough Central.

The new-build apartments are part of Redrow’s redevelopment of the former Royal Aircraft Establishment, where a mix of brand new apartments and townhouses blend with elegantly refurbished historic buildings.

Visitors to the launch event on Saturday / Sunday, September 19 / 20 can enjoy a glass of bubbly while chatting to Redrow’s friendly and experienced sales team. Recommended financial advisors will also be on hand.

The event has been timed to coincide with the conclusion of New Homes Week, a New Homes Marketing Board initiative which is highlighting the wide-ranging advantages of owning a new build home over an older second hand property; including greater energy efficiency, easy maintenance and enhanced security.

Redrow is also shining the spotlight on the overriding benefits of owning a brand new home by calculating that it can cost up to £30,000* to bring an older second hand property up to the same standard as one of its new homes, not to mention the huge outlay of time and energy.

By contrast, in a Redrow home everything has been done for you already to a very high standard, with an up to date specification and highly polished finish that is easy to maintain and keep clean. It also carries the added reassurance of a two-year guarantee for any fitted appliances and the National Home-Building Council (NHBC) 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.

Previous research has also shown that a brand new home is up to 40% more efficient than one built at the beginning of the decade, which should also mean lower fuel bills.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow, said: “With so many positive messages being brought to the attention of homebuyers during New Homes Week, it’s a great time for buyers considering a move to be the first to take a look at the new apartments we are launching at Farnborough Central.

“Designed with art deco and modernist influences, the apartments have a high-end specification. Contemporary kitchens feature top brand name appliances and floor to ceiling units, while bathrooms boast sleek white suites and modern fittings.

“Ready for occupation in March 2010 and priced from £144,950 for a one-bedroom apartment and £179,950 for a two-bedroom apartment, these stylish homes are sure to prove popular with first time buyers, investors or simply those looking to live in the heart of town at a development with bags of character and individuality.”

The 12-acre Farnborough Central will eventually feature a mix of 54 new houses, 85 refurbished apartments in two historical buildings, plus 194 new-build apartments. It is conveniently situated next to IQ Farnborough, a vibrant business park with offices, a café, crèche, heritage centre and a recently-opened four-star hotel and leisure complex.

For rail commuters, journey times from Farnborough mainline station to London Waterloo are less than 45 minutes.

As well as the new apartments, there is a range of three and four-bedroom townhouses priced from £247,500 to £277,950 at Farnborough Central.

Redrow also has a number of tailor-made incentives designed to help homebuyers, including the Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme. Available on some of the houses at Farnborough Central, it is open to customers whose annual household income is less than £60,000 and provides an interest-free equity loan of up to 30 per cent of the purchase price - jointly funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and the developer.

Customers will own 100% of their home from day one – but initially may only have to pay as little as 70% of the purchase price. They can start purchasing the remaining share in instalments after just 12 months.
