Northwest launches new Detroit to Frankfurt flight

29th January 2007 Print
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ partner Northwest Airlines will initiate a second daily roundtrip service between Detroit and Frankfurt during the coming peak summer season, beginning May 7 through October 27.

Increasing this frequency forms part of the expansion of KLM’s and Northwest’s transatlantic schedule as announced in October 2006. This service is operated by both airlines within the scope of their joint-venture agreement.

The second Detroit-Frankfurt service will be operated using Northwest’s Boeing 757 equipment in a special two-class transatlantic configuration. Northwest and KLM announced previously that under the terms of the joint venture they would be launching similar 757 services between Amsterdam and Hartford, between Detroit and Brussels, and between Detroit and Düsseldorf with effect from the forthcoming summer season.

Also within the scope of KLM and Northwest’s transatlantic expansion plan, flight frequencies will be increased on roundtrips between Amsterdam and Detroit, Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto. Capacity will be increased on the flights between Amsterdam and San Francisco.

More information about the flight schedules and travel conditions of KLM/Northwest joint-venture flights can be found via klm.com and in the reservations systems.
