KLM improves short-haul catering services

23rd March 2007 Print
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and KLM cityhopper will alter catering service in KLM Economy on short and medium-haul flights to European destinations. Passengers will be served a new, more elaborate sandwich on flights operated during “mealtimes.” Outside these hours, passengers will have the choice of a sweet or savory snack.

The drinks service in KLM Economy will also be extended on all short and medium-haul flights. In addition to coffee, tea, beer, wine, and water, passengers will be offered a selection of sodas and fruit juices.

These service adjustments will take effect at the start of the summer schedule on Sunday, March 25.

“These improvements are the result of survey among passengers, ascertaining their needs and their opinion of our inflight product and services,” says Erik Varwijk, executive vice president – KLM Inflight Services “The survey revealed a clear demand for the catering adjustments we are set to introduce.”

The new sandwiches (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) will be delivered daily by the UK-based sandwich producer Greencore. Effective March 25, the following beverages will be added to the assortment: Coca Cola, Coca Cola Light, apple juice, and orange juice.
