KLM discontinues Amsterdam - Aruba route

20th February 2009 Print
KLM has announced the discontinuation of its Amsterdam to Aruba route. Passengers with KLM tickets for flights between Amsterdam and Aruba that depart on or after 30 March 2009 will be rebooked onto Martinair flights.

As of that date, KLM will no longer be operating these flights. Flights between Amsterdam and Aruba have been less profitable for some time. Also, the current economic recession and the ticket tax have contributed to this situation.

A special rebooking procedure will be conducted for passengers who have purchased a ticket for these flights. These passengers will not have to do anything themselves to initiate this. Martinair, a company within the KLM Group, already flies this route and will adjust its timetable and capacity accordingly.

Travellers wanting to book a flight between Amsterdam and Aruba that departs before 30 March 2009, can do this by using KLM’s reservation system.

To book flights departing on or after 30 March 2009, travellers must go to the Martinair website.
