The Blue Train offers golf and safari holidays

The Blue Train is an icon of South Africa - a 5-star hotel on wheels. In addition to its regular trips between Cape Town and Pretoria, The Blue Train has just announced that it will be offering two packages - combining this magnificent rail journey with a safari at Legacy's Bakubung Bush Lodge in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and a Golfers Breakaway in conjunction with Zimbali Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal.

Both packages are for 4 days and have 2 set departure dates each for 2008.

GOLFERS BREAKAWAY
The Blue Train in South Africa is offering 2 amazing Golfers Breakaways this year on 11 – 15 September 2008 and 13 - 17 November 2008. This 4 night package, departing on a Thursday evening, includes a return overnight journey on The Blue Train and 2 nights at Zimbali Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal on a B&B basis.

It also includes 2 rounds of golf at Zimbali Golf Estate (including green fees and cart hire) OR a R730-00 voucher to use at Camelot Spa at Zimbali for non-golfers. Guests on the train also get a surprise gift on board and whilst at Zimbali, are invited to enjoy a traditional braai (BBQ) dinner on the Saturday night and Sunday buffet lunch. These special meals are also included in the package - as are the return road transfers from the station to Zimbali.

Rates start from around £660 per person per person sharing in a Deluxe suite.

SAFARI PACKAGE
The Blue Train is also offering its Bakubung Bonanza packages again this year due to popular demand. This trip includes one overnight forward & one return day trip’s accommodation on The Blue Train, plus 2 nights accommodation at Bakubung Game Lodge in the Pilanesberg Game reserve on a DBB basis. The package also includes one guided game drive per day and road transfers to the Lodge. Dates are 24 September 2008 – 27 September 2008 and 29 December 2008 – 1 January 2009. Rates start from around £525 per person sharing.
