Travellers fight it out to win Taiwan’s ‘Best Trip in the World’
Taiwan fans have just one week left to vote for their favourite teams taking part in the country’s ‘Best Trip in the World’ competition.
Travellers from 18 countries were selected from 1,123 teams in 44 countries, including Britain. All of the teams were asked to put together interesting videos of their four-day trip in Taiwan, which were uploaded onto the official contest website for public viewing and voting.
The winning prize will be awarded to the team whose blog and Taiwan documentary have received the most unique hits. The judges will also take into consideration the number of links to the competition site that each team has generated via socal networking sites, such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Voters also have the chance to win a prize from a lucky draw.
The online voting process ends on Saturday 31st October 2009 and the winning team will be announced on 15th November 2009. The winning team will be awarded a prize of NT$1 million, as well as the chance to return to Taiwan to travel for one month.
Competing teams have so far enjoyed a variety of experiences in Taiwan, including visiting the north, central, south, east and the outlying islands. One of the teams, Formosa Adventures, is comprised of British and American members. Along the way, the team has enjoyed outdoor activities, such as river trekking, white water rafting, and paragliding in Hualien, as well as learning about aboriginal culture at the Bunun Tribal Culture Center in Taitung.
