Barratt staff raise money for heroes in Chippenham Staff at Barratt’s Piazza development in Chippenham raised more than £500 for Help for Heroes by running in the annual Chippenham Half Marathon.

The Half Marathon saw field sales manager Richard Lawson and negotiators Denise Mellersh and Cheryl Hobbs run the tough 13 miles.

The funds raised for the charity came from kind donations by residents at the Piazza and Barratt and employees.

“I am thrilled that we managed to reach our target of £500,” said Richard. “I had such a fantastic time, and I am delighted that we were able to help such a valuable charity.

Denise continued: “It felt great to get my running shoes back on and contribute to such an excellent charity. I took part in the London Marathon six years ago and I now plan to run in the Bath Half Marathon next year.

Ex-military service man, Martyn Mackie has recently moved to the Piazza, and was particularly pleased to hear that Barratt had decided to support Help for Heroes as his brother is currently serving in Afghanistan.

Barratt’s sales director, Andrea Pilgrim said “The Chippenham Half Marathon is such a wonderful opportunity to support Help for Heroes.

“Meeting some of our residents who have served in the Armed Forces has really opened our eyes to how much they do to protect our country.”
