Developer answers charity SOS call in Cowplain The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) said a big thank you to retirement property developer McCarthy & Stone after being presented with a cheque for £135 at its Green Haven Court development in Cowplain this week.

More than 50 visitors from Cowplain and the surrounding area joined McCarthy & Stone residents last month for a Strawberry & Pimms themed garden party to help raise vital funds for the sea rescue charity. This week, Brenda Cearns and Robin Dawe from the RNLI, visited the development to be presented with the cheque.

Brenda Cearns commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to have received this donation from McCarthy & Stone and we’d like to say thank you to all the residents and visitors who have supported us. As a charity, we really do rely on the help and generosity of others to enable us to continue saving lives at sea. The money donated by McCarthy & Stone will go towards helping to train and equip our volunteer crews.”

Aileen King, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone South West, commented, “The RNLI is a charity that is close to many of our residents’ hearts and we were keen to put on an event that not only involved the development’s neighbours but also raised much needed funds for the charity. There is a real community spirit at Green Haven Court and we’re delighted that the event proved such a success.”

Green Haven Court is an exclusive development of 46 one and two bedroom retirement apartments situated within Cowplain, Waterlooville, just 11 miles from Portsmouth.

For more information, visit the development on London Road, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5.00pm, or log on to mccarthyandstone.co.uk
