Building on tradition at Bramley Green

22nd October 2009 Print
Building on tradition at Bramley Green Often branded a recent architectural creation, three-storey townhouses are, in fact, one of Britain’s most traditional and upmarket ways of living – and they’re enjoying a huge revival at sophisticated new homes developments such as George Wimpey’s Bramley Green in Hampshire.

The imposing grandeur of the ‘town house’ – historically an urban residence for those who owned a country estate – was a show of status in the 18th and 19th centuries, and designed as a place for entertaining with a large reception room at its heart, balanced by a spacious kitchen and utility areas.

Today’s townhouses reflect this time-honoured formula, while adding contemporary touches to suit our more modern demands – such as en-suite shower rooms and garages.

The double-fronted, detached five-bedroom ‘Pine’ townhouse at Bramley Green, for example, features 2,000 sq ft of accommodation comprising a spacious living room, a formal dining room with French doors to the garden, a large kitchen/breakfast room also with doors to the garden, a family room and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the first floor landing leads to the master bedroom with dressing room and an en-suite with separate bath and shower cubicle, two further double bedrooms and a main bathroom.

Two more bedrooms – one with en-suite shower room – can be found on the top floor, while outside there is a garage.

The similarly spacious ‘Mahogany’ is a magnificent family-sized townhouse featuring traditional, double-fronted architecture and comprising a spacious kitchen with breakfast area and a utility room, a large living room with French doors to the garden, a separate dining room and a study.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a master bedroom with dressing room and en-suite bathroom, two further bedrooms benefiting from access to an en-suite shower room, and a main bathroom.

The top floor of this superior property offers two more double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower.

Tim Betts, Sales and Marketing Director for George Wimpey West London, says: “We are experiencing growing demand for townhouses at our new homes developments, as people seek out the exceptional living space and lifestyle this design of home affords.

“Just two amazing five-bedroom townhouses remain for sale at Bramley Green, priced from £424,995, and so anyone who is looking to live in a traditionally grand style should come along and take a look at the homes before it’s too late.”

Bramley Green also has one two-bedroom house available – the ‘Crimson’ design, priced from £189,995, which is an ideal as a first-time home or for those who are downsizing.

All new homes are finished to a high standard specification to include central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen complete with oven, hob and hood.

Customers with a home to sell can take advantage of George Wimpey’s popular part-exchange programme, through which they can ‘swap’ their current property for a townhouse at Bramley Green, avoiding estate agency fees and the property chain to make a quick and hassle-free move.

Incentives can be tailored to homebuyers’ circumstances and are subject to availability. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.

Perfectly positioned in the village of Bramley, the Bramley Green development is within easy reach of a choice of traditional shops and amenities, including a general store, a pub, a baker’s, a parish church and a primary school.

Bramley railway station is just a short walk away and provides regular services to Reading and Basingstoke, where fast and frequent connecting trains can be caught into London. Both the M3 and M4 are within a few minutes’ drive.

For leisure, the village is surrounded by beautiful open countryside, with a local golf course, a gym, riding schools and a swimming pool nearby.

The Sales Information Centre, located off German Road, Bramley, is open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
