Football fever is again gripping the nation as fans across the country go through the roller coaster of emotions with the Premier League and Football League – with building excitement towards next summer’s World Cup in South Africa following the Three Lions’ recent qualification.

As we enjoy the superstars of now, the search has started for the superstars of the future. Wayne Rooney himself was spotted as a youngster playing football on the streets of Liverpool. He’s now helping talented young footballers gain the recognition they deserve in the latest series of “Coke Zero presents Wayne Rooney’s Street Striker”.

The three part programme will see gifted young footballers put through their paces in a series of street challenges culminating with a dramatic head to head battle between the two best players. The group of young footballers will show off their talents to the Manchester United striker and his footballing right hand man Andy Ansah.

Andy is one of the nation’s top football consultants and soccer choreographers and he’ll be helping Wayne during the series to judge and mentor the young stars as they go through the gruelling and tough street soccer challenges. Andy will be working closely with all the youngsters as they prepare to show off their silky street skills to Wayne.

Wayne comments: “We discovered some great players last year and I can’t wait to begin this year’s search. There’s so much untapped football talent out there and it’s great that we’re giving these players the opportunity to gain recognition.”

The three part series will see Wayne Rooney visit housing estates, car parks, cobbled streets and canals to uncover more untapped teenage footballing talent, exclusive to Sky1 HD and Sky1 from Sunday 8th November at 6pm.
