Boost for Brentwood’s buy-to-let investors

A recent increase in property sales has given buy-to-let investors in Brentwood a boost, according to a local estate agent. As more people put their properties on the market, the number available to let has dropped, leading to a rise in yield for savvy landlords.

Adam Johnson, Lettings Manager at Beresfords, in Brentwood, comments: “Buy-to-let landlords in Brentwood have been seeing improved yields on their properties in recent weeks, as a drop in the number of properties available to rent has led to increased rental rates. Less available stock also means that potential tenants have to move more quickly than in recent times in order to secure a good property, which is great for landlords as this means there is less likelihood of void periods.

“Crest Nicholson’s development Base, in Brentwood, is a great example of this. The quality of the properties and their prime location, close to Brentwood rail station, has ensured that they have been a hit with a wide range of tenants, including young professionals, commuters and downsizers. As a result, the development has achieved consistently high sales levels, attracting both professional and first-time investors.”

Base is conveniently located less than 500 metres from Brentwood train station from which regular services run into London Liverpool Street taking just 38 minutes.

The development is just a short walk from the retail and leisure facilities in Brentwood, which include a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as major high street shops.

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Eastern comments: “Base has always been popular with investors and we’re expecting this trend to continue as market conditions improve. There is no shortage of tenants looking to move into the development as they are attracted by it’s proximity to Brentwood high street, the convenient commute in to London, as well as the fact that there is plenty of open countryside moments away from the development.”

Prices at Base start from £225,500 for a two bedroom apartment. For further information about Base, visit crestnicholson.com.
