A new home at Loves Farm is just what the doctor ordered
Being a single parent and having a demanding career as a GP meant moving home was never going to be an easy operation for St Neots’ local Steven Higgins – until he discovered the benefits of buying brand new.
With such a busy life it was no surprise Steven was looking for a healthy, stress free move to a new home, which was eventually prescribed for him by Redrow Homes.
Following a divorce, the 40-year-old was looking for a fresh start and found his perfect place at the award-winning developer’s Redrow @ Loves Farm development, situated in the picturesque Cambridgeshire town of St Neots.
Now settled in a four-bedroom detached property, which has plenty of room for him and his son Callum, aged seven, it proved to be a perfect move, as Steven explains:
“Following my divorce I was staying in rented accommodation whilst I saved enough money to buy another home but thanks to the incentives offered by Redrow, this was able to happen sooner than I anticipated. In addition to paying a 5% deposit, they provided carpets throughout and a landscaped garden, which certainly helped to keep the costs down.
“Also the fact that the house was brand new and came with a fully fitted kitchen and a modern bathroom suite meant there was no need for costly or time consuming renovations, which would have also been really inconvenient given the long hours I work. It was a great outcome all around.”
Many buyers like Steve have already discovered the benefits of buying a brand new home, which is on average up to 40% more energy efficient than one built at the beginning of the decade and easy to maintain. Redrow has even calculated that the cost of bringing an older second hand property up to the same standard as a new Redrow home could be as much as £30,000, not to mention the huge outlay of time and energy involved.
Redrow @ Loves Farm, situated on Cambridge Road, is a development of three, four and five-bedroom properties. Prices range from £199,950 to £374,950, with afour-bedroom detached home similar to Steven’s coming in at around £264,950.
The development enjoys close proximity to St Neots town centre, which boasts many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as the main attractions of the Great River Ouse and Riverside Park. The town’s railway station is within walking distance and offers journey times to London Kings Cross of between 40 and 50 minutes.
There are also good road links to the A1, M1 and M11, with Bedford and Cambridge both only about 25 minutes’ drive away.
