The Zone, Bristol

The Zone, Barratt’s award-winning site in the Temple Quarter area of Bristol, is one of the most desirable addresses for buyers in the city and is fast becoming as popular with investors.

Andrea Pilgrim, Barratt sales director comments: “The success of this site has been incredible, the location of the Zone and its innovative facilities are proving a popular choice.

“In addition to owner occupiers we have attracted a number of cash buyers and are seeing investors actively returning to the market,” she said.

The Zone’s features include Bristol’s first, residents only fully fitted gym, car club, and roof terraces which have also helped to create a lifestyle which is proving attractive to the investor market.

Andrea added: “The investor market includes parents buying on behalf of their children and a number of Bristol people looking for a local investment.’’

So exactly what is prompting this new surge in investment? The most common reasons given by Barratt customers are:

- The reasonable price of properties available

- Lower purchase prices mean higher rental yields

- Those investing in property believe this is still a better option than other investments

- Property prices are likely to increase in the next five years

- Rental properties in popular areas are still in demand

Andrea continues: “Whether the sales at the Zone are indicative of a national trend can only be determined over time.

“We have now sold more than 90 per cent of homes at The Zone, including all of our studio apartments, although we can still offer a selection of one bedroom apartments priced from £144,995,” she said.

The Zone, which scooped a Daily Telegraph ‘Your New Home’ award for the country’s best city centre development, is close to Cabot Circus.
