New budget Champagne tours that won’t break the bank

Break out the bubbly – specialist operator Grape Escapes has uncorked a new budget range of Champagne tours for 2010 for cash conscious wine lovers. The new packages offer a flexible and affordable introduction to the Champagne region and its celebrated wines from just £184 per person.

Based in the heritage city of Reims, the new budget options include two nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation, a half day guided vineyard tour to a small family run Champagne house with tastings, a 3-course lunch or dinner with a three glasses of different Champagnes (one glass of Chardonnay, one glass of Pinot Noir and one glass of Pinto Meunier), and an afternoon visit to a large prestigious Champagne house in central Reims.

Reims is located in the heart of the Champagne region just two and a half hours’ drive from Calais or 45 minutes from central Paris by train. Optional ferry crossings from can be arranged just £35 per person.

The new budget tours are available year round, excluding Sundays and Wednesdays.
