Total Accident Management has established a partnership with the Bevan Group to provide its HGV customers with an innovative new mobile repair service.

Bevan is providing Total with access to 15 mobile engineers across the UK to enable the majority of its customers’ HGV repairs to be undertaken without a vehicle having to visit a bodyshop.

Not only are repair costs being reduced, but the vehicle is rarely off the road as Bevan’s engineers repair it in situ.

As well as replacement of body panels to the truck cab, Bevan’s highly skilled engineers can repair a host of other items such as bodywork, hydraulics, tail lifts or roller shutter doors. They are supported by Bevan’s central parts facility which pulls together all the relevant bits, such as a fully painted and signed cab door, to undertake a full repair. These are then couriered to the damaged truck’s location in time for the engineer to arrive and undertake all repairs on site.

“This approach is already proving very popular with our HGV customers as it has cut down on rental and repair costs. The quality of Bevan’s work is excellent.  Only 49% of our HGVs now visit a bodyshop for more serious repairs,” explained David Hughes, Total Accident Management’s operations director.

Anthony Bevan, managing director of the Bevan Group said: “We have been designing and building truck bodies for over 30 years so our engineers are well versed in repairs. We carry out around 600 mobile jobs each month and we hope to grow our network of vans to 25 in the next 18 months,” he added.
