Wiltshire house hunters get first glimpse inside stunning new show home

With a lack of housing stock said to be pushing up UK house prices, buyers in the Wiltshire village of Downton were eager to look inside Redrow’s new show home at The Glades.

Formerly part of the Longford Estate, The Glades offers a superb choice of spacious family homes, only a short drive from the beautiful New Forest.

The first of these exclusive properties have now been released for sale, following the long-awaited opening of the beautiful five-bedroom ‘Ash’ show home.

Dressed with classic family living in mind, the soft cream and stone colour scheme with charcoal, black and deep gold highlights reflects the light and airy nature of the property.

Hannah Newnes, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West) said: “We were delighted to launch the much anticipated new show home as it offers potential buyers an insight into what life could be like if they choose to invest in a future at The Glades.

“And with industry experts from mortgage lender Halifax and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors* linking rising house prices to a lack of supply and increase demand, the fabulous new homes are a welcome addition to the Wiltshire housing stock.”

The Glades offers an elegant mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes set in a picturesque location.

Current prices start at £339,995 for a three-bedroom mid-terrace ‘Pine’, while a five-bedroom detached ‘Ash’ with double garage, similar to the show home, is priced from £499,995.

According to Halifax, house prices increased by 1.2% in October – the fourth consecutive monthly increase.

“As the housing market begins to show signs of recovery now could be the time to invest in a new home. One eager buyer is ahead of the game and has already reserved a new four-bedroom home at The Glades,” Hannah commented.

“Others are keen to buy but have existing properties to sell; we can help them with our assisted move scheme, which helps find a buyer and Redrow will pay their estate agent’s fees.”

Homes at The Glades benefit from a number of eco-features, which help them achieve level three of the Code for Sustainable Homes, including solar panels, low-energy light fittings and water butts.

“It means householders can potentially save money while saving the environment,” added Hannah.

The Glades is ideally located for those who want to leave the rat race behind and relax in tranquil surroundings; yet is within easy commuting distance of Salisbury, Southampton, Bournemouth and Poole.

“To help our customers strike that all-important balance between work commitments and family life, a number of properties feature a dedicated home office space with separate entrance, kitchenette and cloakroom,” Hannah said.

“It means you can still ‘go out to work’ but technically you don’t even leave the house, enabling you to spend more time in your beautiful new home.”

The ‘Ash’ show home at The Glades, off Wick Lane, is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm. For more information log on to redrow.co.uk.
