Frontier, one of the UK’s leading volunteer organisations and promoters of responsible tourism, is delighted to announce the launch of a new advice based website for gap year students and career-breakers.

GapYearAdvice.org brings together Frontier’s 20 years experience of the gap year industry and overseas travel to create an invaluable resource for volunteers and those planning on venturing abroad on a conservation project.

The site guides the user through all the stages of planning the perfect gap year or career break; from choosing the most suitable project to learning how to be a responsible tourist, and from deciding what to pack to tips on navigating local transport. With links to other useful resources and suggested volunteer projects from Frontier’s main website, GapYearAdvice.org should be any traveller’s first port of call.

With all the information in one place GapYearAdvice.org aims to make researching and organising an overseas trip a stress-free and enjoyable experience, by making sure the volunteer is well prepared for all the highs and lows of the nomadic lifestyle - whether that’s learning how to grab a bargain bed in Thailand or ensuring they don’t miss the weekly ferry out of Egypt.

Eibleis Fanning, Managing Director at Frontier, comments; “We understand that research is a crucial part of planning a gap year or career break and that it is vital for volunteers to choose a project to suit them, so we created GapYearAdvice.org as a platform to impart some of the knowledge we have assembled over the 20 years and provide an essential resource for gap year students, career breakers or simply anyone who is eager to pack up and see the world with their life on their back.”
