Wizz Air introduces web check-in

2nd December 2009 Print

Wizz Air has launched web check-in. The new service is being initially introduced for flights departing from Budapest and extended gradually to flights from all airports by Spring 2010.

The new web check-in service makes travel even more convenient by decreasing and potentially eliminating queuing at check-in.

The web check-in is available at wizzair.com from seven days up to three hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. The new service does not impact on the rest of the boarding procedure: passengers are requested to present themselves at the boarding gate no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

“We are delighted to present this service enhancement to our passengers. Online check-in makes the process more convenient and efficient both for the passengers as well as the airline. All passengers have to do is to print their own boarding pass at home and present it directly at the gate or at the check-in desks, if they travel with luggage. We encourage our passengers to benefit from this service as it becomes available at their airport.” said György Abrán, Chief Commercial Officer of Wizz Air.

Abrán expects a high conversion rate immediately, as 40% of Wizz Air’s passengers carry only hand luggage.
