New Year self discovery in North East India

The tour includes driving high above the clouds to into the Himalayas to visit the largest Buddhist monastery outside Tibet in the remote town of Tawang, birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Then journey back through the Sela Pass arriving in Bomdila at sunset where you stay overnight in a guesthouse located in the monastery there – watch monks go to prayer and gaze at the night sky.

• Discovering the ancient culture of the world’s largest river island, Majuli in Assam – visit Vaishnavite monasteries, stay overnight in bamboo cottages, and take an early morning boat trip down river.
• Joining an elephant-back safari at sunrise in search of the fabled Unicorn rhino in Kaziranga National Park
• Go for a game walk in Nameri National Park and stay overnight in an eco-camp
