Ford fanfare for National Music Week

Ford fanfare for National Music Week New Ford people carriers were centre stage during National Music Week when a Ford S-MAX and Galaxy transported professionals Soweto Kinch and Seth Lakeman on school visits.

The jazz and folk stars called on schools including Abbey and Stanhope, in London's New Cross. It was one of over 1,700 schools backing National Music Week, which linked teenagers, teachers and Government to broaden their collective musical horizons.

Soweto (pictured on saxophone in New Cross with trumpeter Abram Wilson) and Seth led young musicians in live jam sessions at 50 schools throughout the UK. The professionals then talked to pupils about the numerous options open to take their musical talent further.

Ford supplied practical and versatile S-MAX and Galaxy seven-seaters to move around musicians and their instruments.

Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain marketing director, said: "Ford has a long-standing commitment to support education and we're involved with many engineering and science students. National Music Week was a fresh opportunity to get involved with schools specialising in a different subject area. I enjoyed listening to the result and hope pupils were as impressed by Ford's vehicles as I was by their music."
