Ford supports the Royal British Legion poppy appeal Ford provided two new Galaxy MPVs and a new Transit to support the Royal British Legion's recent 150-mile charity bike ride to Brussels.

Fifty cyclists travelled from Aylesford in Kent to the Belgian capital to raise funds for this year’s poppy appeal. The cyclists travelled via Calais, Ypres, and Bruges. The three Ford vehicles were used to transport personal kit and to provide mobile support for the cyclists.

Ford’s award-winning Galaxy multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is capable of taking seven adults in comfort, or a mix of people and luggage thanks to its highly flexible seating. Galaxy has collected numerous honours including several best large MPV awards from leading fleet titles.

Ford’s multiaward-winning Transit is the International Van of the Year 2007 and offered in front or rear wheel drive, with four wheelbase combinations and a choice of three diesel power units and one petrol engine in a variety of power and torque combinations.

Kevin Griffin, Ford fleet director, said: “We were delighted to be able to support the launch of this year's Royal British Legion poppy appeal by providing Galaxy and Transit vehicles. The poppy appeal provides an important lifeline with the funds it raises for current and ex-servicemen and their dependants. With our Transit brand and product so well known as the backbone of Britain, we felt it was a great opportunity to support such an excellent cause.”
