Sony to showcase 3D home experience in flagship stores
Following Sony’s recent commitment to bring 3D to the home by mid 2010, Sony Europe today confirmed its pre-eminent position at the forefront of 3D by announcing that it would be the first manufacturer in Europe to showcase the 3D home experience to consumers in its flagship SonyStyle stores.
From January 7th at six SonyStyle Stores throughout Europe, visitors and 3D enthusiasts will be able to experience the next generation of 3D home entertainment first-hand, viewing demonstrations of music, movies, games, football and television programming in stunning High Definition 3D.
Building on the enormous success of 3D films at the box office - many of them filmed with Sony camera systems and projected with Sony 3D projectors - Sony’s unique proposition of ‘From Lens to Living Room’ now brings this exciting and new experience to the home.
The 3D experience will certainly not only be limited to Sony BRAVIA TVs, but will also encompass an entire family of 3D compatible products, including PlayStation 3 game consoles, Blu-ray disc players, VAIO notebook computers and Cyber-shot digital still cameras.
But what really sparks the magic of the 3D experience is the availability of compelling content, and this is where Sony is uniquely positioned. In addition to Playstation games in 3D, Sony will also exclusively film major sporting events in 3D (e.g. FIFA World Cup 2010, Sony Open PGA Golf tournament) which will be made available to consumers through various channels. Last but not least, the availability of 3D ready Blu-ray players will herald the arrival of many new 3D films on high definition Blu-ray disc, coinciding with the launch of 3D-compatible BRAVIA TVs in the Summer.
