Ford used car values rise

15th January 2009 Print
Ford’s first closed sale of the New Year attracted 84 Ford dealers and approved buyers to BCA’s Peterborough auction centre to bid on over 230 cars and commercials direct from the manufacturer. A further 25 Live Online bidders also competed for stock via the internet.

A wide variety of Ford cars and commercials were offered, and 224 were sold for a 96% conversion that generated a turnover of £2.26 million. Values improved over December’s figures by around 8%, underlining the current high demand for Ford product.

Ford’s Chris Shambrook, Auction Manager, commented “This was an exceptional sale, well-presented by BCA, with strong bidding across the board from our loyal and diverse trade customers. Prices were very strong and the overall performance exceeded our own high residual value expectations.”

Alan Gupwell, BCA’s National Remarketing Manager added "This sale saw strong bidding across the Ford model range with an excellent performance against December’s figures. Ford product is highly sought after at BCA and this clearly reflects the improved retail demand being reported by dealers.”

Ford’s 2009 programme with BCA features monthly sales at the Nottingham, Peterborough and Bedford centres.
