Affection is the best Valentine’s treat

Showing a loved one you care on Valentine’s Day does not need to break the bank – a kiss and a cuddle is the most romantic gesture, new research reveals.
Expensive jewellery, sexy underwear and fancy dinners are the least wanted gifts for Valentine’s Day, research for ROLO has found.
According to those questioned, even a romantic weekend away rated less highly than a kiss and cuddle with their partner.
The research, conducted by ROLO, pioneers of loving gestures, also found that over eighty per cent of Brits (84%) rated the importance of little gestures throughout the year above one-off grand gestures on Valentine’s Day.
The research also appears to dispel the myth that Britain is an unromantic nation. Three quarters (74%) of people in relationships revealed they share a kiss and a cuddle with their partner at least once a day, whilst over a quarter of those polled said their partners make them feel like it’s Valentine’s Day every month.
Psychologist, Anjula Mutanda explained: “It’s the small gestures that mean the world to your partner. Why? It means that you are not only thinking of them, but showing them too, by putting those thoughts and feelings into positive action. Small gestures are the building blocks for a strong relationship. Regular effort is psychologically far more effective in making love last, than a single grand gesture which is more often than not - short lived”
ROLO is urging the great British public to consider what small gestures they can make this Valentine’s - whether that means breakfast in bed, a romantic meal at home, a kiss and a cuddle or giving someone your last ROLO.
Since the iconic brand asked ‘Do you love anyone enough to give them your last ROLO?’ it has remained a symbol of love and romance. Indulge the one you love this Valentine’s with ROLO, the perfect combination of smooth chocolate & chewy caramel in individual bite size cups.
