Tigers in India – Reef & Rainforest Tours has added Ranthambore National Park to its list of recommended sites for seeing Indian tiger. The decline in numbers of the world’s largest cat in Ranthambore, once one of India’s most famous tiger reserves, is now in reverse with recent tiger viewings on the up. The park, which sprawls over an estimated area of 400 sq kms, is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan.

Jaguars in Brazil – Reef & Rainforest Tours has claimed a record number of jaguar sightings at the Jaguar Research Centre in Brazil’s Pantanal. In the last two years over 100 jaguars, one of the most elusive big cats, have been seen by Reef & Rainforest Tours clients. A recent group saw nine different cats on 13 separate sightings. The Pantanal has only recently been recognised as an important South American wildlife spotting destination, home to South America’s ‘Big 5’ - giant anteaters, giant otters, tapirs, pumas and jaguars.
