Miller offers an easy route to a new home in Heysham
Amanda Livesey and Simon Large believe now is a great time to make a move. They have just taken a leap up the property ladder with the help of Miller Homes and the HomeBuy Direct Scheme and have purchased a stylish new Croft 4-bed detached home at the Millers Green development in Heysham.

Amanda and Simon chose an impressive house design. Amanda says: “We were attracted by the Croft’s spacious room sizes and a flexible layout. We really like how the living space flows from room to room; it makes a very sociable space.” Simon adds: “The house is quite unique and has a great layout. It’s a fantastic property. The large kitchen dining area is great and we also have a separate dining room. We do a lot of entertaining so we call this our party house.” Amanda and Simon aren’t the only ones to have fallen for the Croft’s charms. Miller Homes has buyers prepared to wait for more this design to be built further on in the development.
Amanda and Simon purchased their new home using HomeBuy Direct, the Government’s shared equity scheme. HBD is designed to help people in need of a more affordable way to buy their own new build home now, whilst interest rates are low and good value in new homes can still be found. People that qualify for HBD pay a minimum of 70% of the price of their new home now and receive an equity loan, co-funded by the Government and Miller Homes, for up to 30% of the property value. Buyers still own 100% of the property from day one. Amanda says: “Homebuy Direct was the only way we could get the house we wanted. We found the process very straightforward; in fact we couldn’t believe how easy it was.”
The couple had previously lived in Lancaster and had seen the new homes while driving round the area. Amanda added: “It’s a nicely planned development. There’s plenty of space between the houses. Simon comments: “The properties are good quality and the internal fittings are superb. The service we received from Miller Homes was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for Denise Lyon, the Sales Adviser, or Harry Dainton, the Site Manager. They really did Miller Homes proud and made the buying process a pleasure from start to finish. Miller Homes stands out as a company that still manages to keep the customer at the centre of its business.”
Besides loving their new home, Amanda and Simon also love its location. Amanda says: “We love being near the coast and the seafront is just five minutes walk from our new home. Simon added: “My job’s in Lancaster and it’s very convenient to get to work, as there’s a good road link.” I like the fact Millers Green is close to existing services. When I owned a new build home previously I had to travel a long way to the shops but this is conveniently located.”
