Linden Homes appoints agents at Kingston Mills

Linden Homes Western has appointed three different estate agents to handle sales at Kingston Mills in Bradford on Avon. Why three? Well, firstly, the business space needs some specialist ‘know how’ and that is being provided by Kavanaghs who are the local office space experts.

Together with Fleurets who are nationally renowned for their leisure and hospitality ‘know how’ the commercial section will be well taken care of. For the residential side of the development, local estate agent Davies & Davies will be best placed to ensure a smooth sales process.

Kingston Mills is an important landmark development in the heart of Bradford on Avon. The scheme will eventually provide new office space, cafes, restaurants, convenience store, and 170 new homes. 30% of the homes built will be for rent or part ownership – a great boost for an area where opportunities for affordable homes have been scarce up until now. The collaboration between Linden Homes, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Wiltshire Council and Selwood Housing Association means there will be a supply of affordable homes for local people within the town.

Justin Davies of strategically placed, Davies & Davies says he is pleased to be part of the team. “The people of Bradford on Avon have waited so long for the site to be developed, there is plenty of interest and I know we will have a big demand for the homes here.” Linden hopes to release the first homes for sale towards the end of April.

Meantime, with Linden Homes close to agreeing who will be taking over the convenience store, Fleurets, the specialist leisure and hospitality property agent has been appointed to sell the restaurant and café space. Chris Irving from Fleurets says “We are conscious of the strategic importance to the town centre of the commercial aspects of this regeneration. We will be approaching existing contacts as well as inviting new approaches to ensure the right operators are found for the scheme.”

Henry King from Kavanaghs agrees.

“The development is very important for the economic well being of the town. It will provide a greater range of retail occupiers with shops of various sizes attracting new business to the town. The offices will fulfill the demand from occupiers who wish to be in Bradford on Avon providing an improved balance of employment opportunities. Interest has already been shown in the accommodation from a variety of sources.”
