With the April showers and even snow expected to wreak havoc on outdoor plans this Easter holiday, many people will be looking for ways to fill up their days spent indoors beyond watching hours of Hollyoaks re-runs, made-for-TV movies or surfing the net. Why not stave off the boredom and channel you creative juices into making your own digitally animated movies - for free?

British site Moviestorm provides free software which allows anyone to write, produce, direct and edit their own digital masterpiece. The site has already inspired thousands of Brits to produce a movie following the success of digitally animated movies like Avatar, Up and Fantastic Mr Fox and now those on holiday can get in on the action over the Easter break.

With dozens of highly customisable characters, over 60 pre-built sets and hundreds of props on offer, the creative ideas are endless. From making a music video starring your very own version of Lady Gaga, to a Little Britain styled comedy or Eastenders inspired soap starring all your local store owners there is something bound to keep everyone entertained for hours on end. Once you have created your masterpiece you can then share them with friends via You Tube and Facebook.

“Keeping amused over a forecasted wet four day Easter break can be a tough task, but the chance to create or even star in your own animated work of art in the comfort of your own home, will be a welcome distraction from the rain and snow,” says Jeff Zie, CEO of Moviestorm.co.uk.
